Presents

Evie got lots of presents this year! here is one from Grandma and Grandpa B. a snuggly gangster track suit with a butterfly on the front!
Roxanne got me the gift of beer, here is the first installment in Rx's Beer of the month club... Red Rocket Ale from Sonoma County...
Louie likes it too!

Here is Evie on the awesome ride and walk Lion sent by Grandma and Grandpa P back in Wisco.

At first we thought she might be too young, but she took to it well! she enjoys dancing on top of it while we push her around...

Thanks everyone who sent presents this year (above is by no means intended to be an all inclusive list). Evie loves all her toys and new books... she likes to "read" books by herself now, its kind of funny actually. We were sad we couldnt visit family this year, but I am sure in the spring we will be visiting again. Merry Christmas!

New outfits!

Oh you know she's a Packer fan!... actually Evie hasn't decided which sports teams she likes yet... she is willing to wear any team's clothes that people are willing to send her...hint hint. (with some exceptions)
Evie's Wisconsin Grandma (Kathy) gave this beautiful christmas dress to her. She loves it!

Evie's Missouri grandma (Pat) got this baby santa suit for her..

The hat stays on for about 3 seconds so we have to snap pics quickly

Merry Christmas!!

ha ha! I didn't even know about Jack's last post until now. As it so happens,at this very moment, there is another cat in the household also enjoying something Evie is growing out of....

Ah, the bouncy has continued to serve us well.

Turkey Day Morning!

Evie's Blue Steel look!

Our thanksgiving setting!

This is just the beginning....add shrimp, brisket and turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, creamed corn, homemade cranberry sauce, coleslaw, Pilbury baked rolls and butter, and Old Fashioneds to wash it all down. What a feast!!

Evie had fun on our Thanksgiving morning walk..

Here she is hiding in a blanket!

I like this... her fast moving hands make me think of her as a sea otter smashing an aboloney with a rock

Evie is sick :(

but you wouldn't know it by how she is acting!!

She has a little fever, and we think/hope she is getting better already.

Roxanne came up with a great new game.. putting a burp rag on her head and letting her take it off... babies rule!

so many firsts!

Evie's first painting brought home from school. It's a turkey. Use your imagination.

She has started to stand up, with a little assistance. As you can see from this video, she is a little off balance yet, and easily distracted. Don't worry, no Evie's were hurt in the making of this video.

As you can see from this video she is gaining balance quickly, getting better at it from just a couple days ago when the first video was shot.

She also had her first taste of southern biscuit - hmmm, hmmmm. She likes to duck her head, mouth open, toward the food like a little bird. We're still working on her putting food into her mouth with her own hand.

Thanks for checking out our blog everyone!!

Fun Sunday!

We had a great hike at Spicewood Springs! There is finally water in the spring, it stunk that all summer it was bone dry cause it is a great place to hang out and beat the heat. It is cool now in Spring-fall (Austin's second and shorter season), but it is still a great place to hike at. We broke out the Baby Bjorn like baby carrying device. Evie loved it!! She was so happy the entire time! I stepped on a rusty roofing nail and had to get a Tetanus shot later that day :(
Here we are with Louie (and his friend Louie) at our favorite watering hole.

Louie loved playing in the shallow water but thought that a full dip was just a little bit too cold for him..

We have been giving Evie teething biscuits... here she is discovering that the biscuits can be used as a drum. Evie loves her some drumming...

Finally, here we have Evie reinacting a scene from The Never Ending Story (starring Louie Butters Scotch as Falcor). We dont know where the dramatic arm movement came from in this video, I think she was doing her best Atreyu impression.

Halloween Night

We had an exciting Halloween. First, I worked (not the exciting part), then we went to best buy and picked up a new little computer for me. It's a Gateway notebook. I'm so excited!

I've given up on trying to rearrange the blog so now I'm just titling pictures. Below is a picture of the 3 of us in costume at a party we went to last weekend. (Jack is a detective)

Tonight Evie and I re-dressed up for the trick-or-treaters. We took a walk around the neighborhood first. It was fun, and another excuse to put E in that cute dress again.

Here is EV with her familiar, Priscilla

This is a recap of Louie's night - we took a walk around the neighborhood. He greeted some people who were sitting out to give out candy. He saw them and howled and acted like they were his friends he hadn't seen in ages. He had to go up and say hi, it was hilarious. Then we got back home and, when the kids started coming to the door, we resorted to leashing him to the bedroom door and letting him bark from there. Poor old man, he can't take all that excitement any more.

A better pic of E w/her familiar, and her broom.

That's it! Hope I didn't bore anyone. I'm eager to see other people's Halloween costume pictures!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!

There was a glitch with our camera today so we lost all our pictures :( We went to a Halloween party yesterday and got some pics of E with her witch costume on. Then, today, we went to a birthday party for Evie's friend, Merritt. They had a great time playing together but those pictures are gone too. Well, we're trying to fix our problem with the camera. In the meantime I managed to get one video uploaded to the blog before it, too, was lost. Enjoy!

Bath time! She suddenly loves her ducky...... enough to put the whole head in her mouth. Extreeeeme teething!

We tried a bow in her hair the other day. I personally don't think it looks that cute on her, she doesn't need a bow!
It's about that age (she was 8 months on Monday) to start seeing if she wants to eat finger foods. So, I gave her some bananas yesterday. As you can see, she isn't really interested in finger foods quite yet....

oh sweet madison

View from the plane. For those of you who know the area, you can see the Monona Terrace, the Capital, and the campus.

We needed to see if Evie would fit into the overhead compartment. Turns out, she was not too big. Even so, the stewardess suggested that we store her under the seat in front of us instead.

Evie happy to visit Granpa and Uncle Ryan.

Beautiful view of the Monona Terrace from the Betty Lou Cruise we went on for Bonnie's wedding and reception.

I had to give a speech, something I was super nervous about. But I think it went over pretty well. I heard plenty of laughing - hopefully WITH me, not AT me ;)

Jack had to get a pic of his girls in front of his favorite lady. He had a little fling with her on his 25th birthday night. I still have pictures to prove it!

Bye Bucky! We'll miss you!!!!
Thanks everyone for your hospitality BTW. We didn't get very many other pictures but we had a great time hanging with people and actually spending time relaxing and visiting this time.
It may be a while before we come back up to visit. Evie is getting less and less patient with the whole flying experience. So, it may be a green Christmas in Austin for us. However, as always, we welcome visitors ;)

Fun weekend

I had a good weekend not going to work, unfortunately Rx had to work on Saturday, but we had fun on Sunday..

Evie is an angel as always.... So is Louie, complete with halo

Here's the angel, Evie's, picture ... for comparison.

Evie is standing more and more these days, still with our help of course.

We went to 2 museums for Austin Museum day and took a total of one picture (below).. check out the giant nautilus fossils on the trail. I couldn't help but imagine how tasty these extinct cephalopods must have been.. like a mixture between a lobster and a squid... it made me hungry just thinking about it...

So after several false starts and after battling extremely crappy parking in south Austin we arrived at Mighty Cone (where everything is served in a cone) it was pretty good.
Evie was sooo good the whole time, she didnt cry at all the whole 3 hrs we were out... she was better behaved than we were trying to find a parking spot.
