Mommie and grandma B went shopping at Babies R Us today and came back with a wonderful world of fun for Evie....a play yard complete with a glowing musical star.
When the star lights up, she is mesmerized...we think her first words will be "staaaarr......kill for staaaarrr"

the new "bread bowl"
The new bread bowl from Dominos reminded me of a comedian a few years back who had some great commentary on the "famous bowl" from KFC. It's worth watching all the way through, it just gets better and better....

Let me clear my throat
Evie has started talking a lot more - well, she makes breathy sounds and coos.
She's also coughing along with it, like warming up her voice box to really get going in the future. (well, that's my theory anyway)
We got E.V. and Lou together. As you can see, he LOVED it!
Then Jack said the word "treat"

PS - E.V. is 3 months old tomorrow. wow, how time flies when you're off work (heh heh).
I am, however, gearing up to go back to work. I'm not going back to the E.R. - the hours wouldn't work with a babe at home. So, I've decided to become a "relief" vet - basically it is like contracting out to fill in for people when they're on vacation or at conferences or whatnot. I'm pretty excited about it, but I have to incorporate and get a CPA, separate business checking and all that. It's a lot of over my head lingo but, whatcha gonna do? I've already met some great other relief vets in Austin and went out to lunch and then a movie and dinner with them. They're all very friendly with each other, which is awesome.
Now I have to get my general practice skills back. What's a vaccine again? Wish me luck!!

Sad...
"Ever since he was released from Guantanamo in February after six years of due-process-less detention and brutal torture. Binyam Mohamed has been attempting to obtain justice for what was done to him. But his torturers have been continuously protected, and Mohamed's quest for a day in court repeatedly thwarted, by one individual: Barack Obama. Today, there is new and graphic evidence of just how far the Obama administration is going to prevent evidence of the Bush administration's torture program from becoming public." --Glen Greenwald Blog...
Quite despicably, we are threatening to withhold intelligence information about terrorists that could attack British citizens in exchange for silence about the torture and detention of this innocent man. Way to distinguish yourself from your predecessor Obama...
Update: Great quote from todays GG blog (acual quote is from this Andrew Sullivan article):
Slowly but surely, Obama is owning the cover-up of his predecessors' war crimes. But covering up war crimes, refusing to prosecute them, promoting those associated with them, and suppressing evidence of them are themselves violations of Geneva and the UN Convention. So Cheney begins to successfully coopt his successor. . .

weekend
Louie is a cool dude... Like that needs reiterating...
Other than Louie being cool, we had an eventful weekend. Julia came down from WI to meet our little nugget. We went to Pace Bend for a little beach time. Between Louie and Evelyn, one loved the beach and one absolutely hated every minute of it... I will let you guess which disposition belongs to which of our children...

Wedding Archive Part 2: Kirkburger Exposed!!
I think this wedding snippet clearly shows Kirk coming on to me, lucky I was able to fend off his advances (this time).
Here are Julia, Olivia, and Russ attempting to do the worm, Olivia is close, but no one was able to match DW's impressive skills.
